From The Fields to Our Stands
See how the season unfolds at Huffman Produce — from early arrivals to our Valley-grown harvest.
Fresh favorites all season long
At Huffman Produce, our stands are full from the very beginning of the season. Some early items are already homegrown right here in Valley, Nebraska, while other favorites arrive first from trusted growers in warmer growing regions who grow directly for us. As the summer goes on, more and more of our Valley-grown produce begins to arrive at our stands.
Early Season
We open with a full stand of fresh produce, including favorites like sweet corn, tomatoes, peaches, melons, and more. Early homegrown Valley items often include cucumbers, zucchini, and yellow squash.
Mid-Season
By late June and early July, more of our Valley-grown produce begins coming in — including homegrown tomatoes, sweet corn, bell peppers, eggplant, and more.
Late Season
Watermelon and winter squash are some of our latest homegrown items, typically ready for harvest in August and September.
Seasonal Fruit Favorites
In addition to our homegrown produce, we also carry the seasonal fruits our customers look forward to each year, including peaches, Bing cherries, plums, apricots, and pink pineapple when available.
Peach season often begins with Georgia peaches, transitions into Colorado peaches, and finishes later in the season with Idaho peaches.
A Family Farming Partnership
Much of the produce we offer comes through a close family farming partnership with A&T Farms. From planting and growing to bringing the harvest to our stands, we work hand in hand to help connect fresh produce from the field to our customers all season long.
Before all of our own Valley-grown produce is ready, we also work with trusted growers in warmer regions who grow directly for us — often in the same varieties we grow ourselves — so our stands can offer great flavor from the very start of the season.
